Using fake/prop money on social media

Is this legal? I never hear of anyone getting busted. I thought you had to have clear markings and/or a different size than real notes when using it in media. Or does that only apply to cinema and not photos?

I think you are a bit confused about the purpose of prop money. It is meant to look real in front of the camera but be obviously fake so that it can't be used or confused with real currency. The laws are about how the prop money needs to be fake.

I have never heard or seen anyone suggest that there needs to be some disclaimer present that the money present in a shot is prop money. Where are you getting that idea from? Have you ever seen such a disclaimer in a movie or music video?
